Nora is born with profound 🧐 hearing loss. There are four 4️⃣ separate types of hearing loss is mild, moderate, severe and finally profound 🧐. I was born with moderate hearing loss is 60%. I wear two 2️⃣ hearing aids 🦻 🦻 everyday since 1980 is 44 previous years ago in 2024. By six 6️⃣ years time 🕰️, it’s 2030 that I’ll be aged 53 to 54 years old if I can 👌 make it that I’ve worn hearing aids 🦻🦻 for 50 years. I have deaf 🧏 🧏‍♀️ 🧏‍♂️ is the worse on my left ear 👂 than the right ear 👂. When I go to sleep 🛌 😴 💤 in bed 🛌, have a wash 🧼 🧽 and finally perhaps 🤔 go swimming 🏊 🏊‍♀️ 🏊‍♂️ , I don’t wear hearing aids 🦻 🦻 is because the hearing aids 🦻 🦻 can be severely damaged by the water 💦 🚿 💧 and it can 👌 be my fault 🤦 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♂️ and I’m not joking 🙃. All hearing aids 🦻 🦻 have a small battery 🔋 🪫 that has a around best before date 📅 📆 is three 3️⃣ years and I recycle ♻️ the batteries 🪫 🔋 in a battery 🔋 🪫 bin 🚮 🗑️ at the supermarket shop 🏬 is Tesco and perhaps 🤔 other types of shops 🏬. I honestly don’t have wax in my ears 👂 👂 and never 👎 place any cotton wool buds in my ear 👂 canal is because it can seriously 😦 😟 😧 push the wax into the ear 👂 canal and I’m not joking 🙃. My hearing sounds go up 📈 and down everyday. When I cross ❌ ❎ the roads 🛣️ 🛣️ 🛣️ , I always stop 🛑, look 👀 and finally listen 🎧 👂 to oncoming vehicles 🚗 in a traffic so I don’t end up 🔝 ⬆️ 🆙 being run 🏃‍♀️ over and it could perhaps 🤔 serve me right. Also there are traffic lights 🚥 🚦 at the crossing as well. When the traffic lights 🚥 🚦 are green 🟩 , freeze 🥶 in one 1️⃣ ☝️ place until it goes orange 🟧 is to get ready to cross ❌ ❎ the road 🛣️ and finally when it turns red 🟥 , cross ❎ ❌ the road 🛣️ and it’s safe. 👍 😄 😀

Hello Khirman, thank you for your comment. I understand that you are wondering why there is a need for the drying desiccant in the Dry & Store by Zephyr. That is a wonderful question. The desiccant lowers the humidity and captures the moisture released during the drying cycle. If we can help with anything else, please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-483-3123, you can send an email to customer@cochlear.com, or Live Chat on our online store, 8am to 5pm MT. Hi, When I connect my Cochlear TV streamer using the analog Cable to my Laptop audio output port, sound is not coming to my OSIA 2 processor. Hello Kazi, thank you for your comment. I understand you are using your Osia 2 with the TV Streamer and your laptop. I understand the orange light is on the streamer indicating it is receiving the audio. It seems as though it is ready to be working. Possibly you have not yet activated streaming. You can do that in the Osia Smart App by clicking on the TV icon. Does the app reflect that you are actively streaming with the TV Streamer when you do that, and it is still not working? Also, I have a nucleus 8 on the other side, so wondering if when travelling I can charge Kanso 2 via portable charger and leave it in the nucleus drybox overnight? Would be great if the Kanso 2 could be charged via USB...

    • @CochlearAmericas

Hi Caren, thank you for your comment. I understand you are getting the Kanso 2 soon and have a couple questions regarding the chargers. The Portable Charger can be plugged into the Home Charger to charge. However, you do not have to do that. You will be able to charge the Portable Charger using the USB cable and a standard power adapter in the wall. When traveling you will be able to use the Portable Charger. However, you wouldn't want to put the Kanso 2 in the Nucleus Dry Box due to the Kanso 2 internal battery. Unless you are submerging the Kanso 2 in water, it won't be a problem to go a few days or so without drying it in the Home Charger. It seems the intention is to not have to bring the Home Charger when traveling and that is okay to do, as long as you have the Portable Charger and don't plan on getting the Kanso 2 wet. Please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-483-3123, you can send an email to customer@cochlear.com, or Live Chat on our online store, 8am to 5pm MT. @@CochlearAmericas I got an answer finally yesterday and it’s currently being addressed. The only thing I can say is that it is obvious that non-cochlear implant users are the ones who engineered this processor. A rechargeable battery that only lasts 12 hours max with no disposable battery options or even any other options to charge besides this bulky charger. It’s not embarrassing to wear the charger in public because I need to do it but on the other hand, you feel everyone’s eyes diverting towards the charger and I’ll even get asked what tunes I’m listening to on my “MP3 player”. It is very bulky and the corded portion coming from behind your head is not a good look aesthetically. It gets in the way of doing things at work as I am required to wear a hard hat everyday and it has to sit just right to prevent the hard hat from knocking my hooked up processor off. I can’t even go anywhere without electricity due to worrying about how long my processor battery is going to last such as going on a camping trip out in the woods for the weekend because I wouldn’t have the option to charge both processor and charger. I even go without wearing my processor at home sitting in its charger base before I go out to the bars or something to ensure I don’t run out of battery and having to put my portable charger on in front of other people. Like I mentioned in the previous comment, this is the best processor I’ve ever had in terms of aesthetics, sound, quality, etc but the battery/charging options are god-awful. Thank you for reading the comments and I sincerely hope that my comment gets forwarded to the development team because I do feel this would resonate with many other Kanso 2 users.

Hi Justin! Thank you for contacting us today. We are sorry that at this time you cannot connect directly to your MacBook or Xbox, however if you have a Mini Microphone you can plug it directly into either your laptop or gaming system and be able to stream the sounds directly from your Mini Mic to your sound processor. We hope that helps!

omg I had no idea that was a battery slot, that is genius. I’ve had my osia for years now and I had no clue that’s what the slot in the case was for. 😂

Isabelle I couldn't believe it when I watched your video on UA-cam about your Cochlear implant. My wife recently got a N8 implant also. Also you're from where my wife is from!! I haven't finished watching your video here yet but once I send this message I will for sure. I hope everything goes well for you with your new implant. Take care. BTW, we live in the States. In the state of North Carolina. We're planning on flying back there before the end of this yr and hopefully my wife will be able to hear, even if it's enough to hear what people are talking to her about. That's our Goal at least.

Please get rid of the background music competing with the speaker’s voice. Geez, know your audience.

''I have Kanso 1 and I had this when I was 11 years old ( I'm 17 and in 2 weeks I'm becoming 18 years old ). So I've had it as a hearing device for six years. The advantages of Kanso 1 are that I can play football or basketball without problem ( I can use Kanso 1 with a hair clip if I want to play comfortably during training, game or life). BUT the disadvantage is that I can't understand it well. I mean I can't understand what people are saying to each other or to me. If I go out with a new friend, I will ask him "what, what did you say or i didn't understand, can you repeat it" etc etc. I can not understand my classmates. I can hear them but I can not understand them. Is like you are hearing a new language but you can not understand. That's how I felt all the time. And because of this I have no friends. So I am alone. I don't have any friends. So I haven't found a friend for 2 years. From class 10 till now (class 11). After Middle School and Junior High school ( Grade 1-9 )l, I had no friends in Secondary high school (Grade 10- present 11). I was lucky to have friends when I was in Middle School and Junior High School ( Grade 1-9 ), but my luck ran out in Secondary high school (Grade 10- present 11 ). Also I have problems with pronunciation, so I have an accent. I have a close friend and he has Nucleus 7 and speaks like he is from our country. People ask me every time "where are you from, you don't look like you are from here etc, etc which is very annoying for me. I suggest you guys don't buy this. I am warning you because you will suffer a lot just like me. It is better if you get Nucleus 7 or 8. If you don't have money for Nucleus 7 or 8, buy KANSO 2 but DO NOT BUY KANSO 1. You will suffer a lot. Don't buy it. You can't understand anything with Kanso 1. And also I am not lying, if you think I am lying it's your problem.''
